About Marine Snow LLC
I founded Marine Snow LLC in 2026 as a small side business to support my lifelong reefkeeping hobby. What started over 20 years ago as my first high school aquarium quickly became a passion that shaped much of my life.

During college, I worked at a Southern California local fish store specializing in saltwater aquariums. There, I gained hands-on experience with life support systems, coral care, and even raising sharks and jellyfish. Growing up in Southern California with deep family roots in Hawaii, I developed a strong connection to the ocean and marine biology early on.

My time as an ocean lifeguard in Malibu gave me a firsthand look at the damage facing our kelp forests and marine ecosystems. That experience strengthened my commitment to aquaculture and sustainable reefkeeping practices that do not harm natural reefs.
After two decades of raising coral and fish and designing custom aquarium accessories, I decided to take the next step: providing affordable, responsibly grown livestock and reliable tools to fellow reef keepers — with the long-term goal of turning this passion into a full-time business.
Today, I live in Bozeman, Montana with my wife, son, our dogs, and a 220-gallon reef aquarium. Living far from the ocean has made my aquarium even more meaningful — it’s a source of relaxation, creativity, and connection that I now get to share with my son.

My Commitment
There are too many low-quality products and unhealthy coral specimens in the market. I believe reef keepers deserve better.
- Every accessory I sell is designed, tested, and used by me in my own aquarium.
- Every coral frag is grown, cut, photographed, and shipped by me personally. If I wouldn’t use it in my own tank, I won’t sell it.
Why “Marine Snow”?
In marine biology, “marine snow” refers to nutrient-rich organic material that drifts down through the ocean, feeding life at every depth. In aquariums, it’s also known as a powerful food source for filter-feeding invertebrates.
The name reflects multiple parts of my life:
- “Marine” for my years as an ocean lifeguard in Malibu.
- “Snow” for my home in the Rocky Mountains.
- And the idea of sustaining marine life in a responsible, balanced way.
Marine Snow represents nourishment, sustainability, and a deep respect for the ocean — values that guide everything I do.
