Description: Rhodactis mushrooms are very popular due to their variety of colors and textures, and their easy care. They reproduce by fission and laceration, and often detach and move to different parts of the tank if lighting and flow aren't ideal.

These corals are incredibly hardy, easy to care for, tolerant of most lighting conditions, but prefer medium to low light. Under high light, the mushroom will contract into a small disc, about 1/2" in diameter. Under medium to low light, it can expand to 3" or larger. However, if light is too low, brown will become the dominant color.

They can be semi-aggressive in their growth as they can overtake nearby corals.

Approx. Size: 1 OR MORE mushrooms on a frag plug. Mushroom size can be variable, but are typically between 3/4" and 2" in diameter. Due to the rate these grow and split in my tank, you may receive a frag with more than a few polyps on them at no additional fee.

Note: The picture of the "mound" of mushrooms is an example of the parent colony. The frags shipped will be smaller and contain fewer mushrooms per frag. 

Care and Recommendations:  

• Lighting: Medium (100 PAR) or less recommended.
• Flow: Mild to Moderate Flow
• Care: Extremely Easy
• Feeding: Most food obtained via Zoozanthellae. However, they benefit from periodic feedings of Mysis/Brine Shrimp.

*Species is likely inchoata, however there are several similar species that trade under the generic sp.
