Scientific Name: Clavularia sp.

Common Name: Clove Polyps, Glove Polyps, Pam Tree Polyps, Fern Polyps

Category: Soft Coral - Clavularia

Description: These octocorallia (eight segmented) soft corals grow across surfaces in a connected network of stolons. Incredibly tolerant of various light intensities, medium (75-100 PAR) is usually the best place to start.

Since they have longer stalks and wavy tentacles on their polyps, they can be visually pleasing under variable moderate to high flow. This will also keep detritus from building up on its surface.

Their Zoozanthellae provide the majority of their food via sunlight. Occasional feeding of zooplankton is beneficial, but not regularly required.

They are very slow growing corals, so are often priced higher as they take more time and resources to aquaculture.

Approx. Size: 3-5 polyps on a frag plug. Polyp stalks are typically 1" long with 1/2" extended polyps at the end.

Care and Recommendations:

  • Lighting: Medium (75-100 PAR) Recommended
  • Flow: Moderate Flow
  • Care: Easy.
  • Feeding: Their Zoozanthellae provide the majority of their food via sunlight. Occasional feeding of zooplankton is beneficial, but not regularly required.

Note: There is a box fee of $9.99 for all livestock orders applied at checkout. This includes the insulated shipping box, heat/cold pack (if required), plastic specimen bag, and other materials to ship your frag safely. There is only one box fee per order. So, if your order is large and requires multiple boxes, you will still only be charged $9.99.
